Itineraries

Day 01

North Batan Island Tour (_/L/_)

Depart from Manila to Batanes. Begin Batanes North tour is within the Town of Basco, the capital of Batanes. The tour will visit Mt. Carmel Chapel, where you can view both the Pacific Ocean and West Philippine Sea (formerly known as South China Sea). The Chapel exhibits the talents of the Ivatan artist, where the Patron saints of the six Municipalities of Batanes were painted in the chapel ceiling. Japanese tunnel, DOST-PAGASA weather station and Valugan Boulder bay will be another stop. A walking tour to visit the Rizal Park, Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral and the Provincial Capitol Complex. Before the last stop, A perfect view of the three major Islands of Batanes, BATAN, SABTANG and ITBAYAT at Vayang Rolling Hills. Catch up the sunset at the Basco Lighthouse.

Day 02

Sabtang Island Tour (_/L/_)

Enjoy the 30-minute falowa boat ride to Sabtang where the beauty of nature and preserved culture offers a different experience. Explore homes and enjoy the warm greetings from the Ivatans. The island offers some of the best photo opportunities for visitors. The Unique Structures of the Ivatan Houses built to withstand an unexpected super typhoon reveals much of the Ivatans personality, their way of life, culture and tradition. Walk along the national road in Barangay SAVIDUG with the preserved native houses. Go further to see the Idiang, a high rocky formation that has served as a fortress or refuge against attacking enemies of the locals in the early times. Barangay CHAVAYAN is the home of skilled “VAKUL” weavers. After Barangay Chavayan, proceed to Morong Beach where you can find the “AHAW” (Arc-like cave). Taste the lobster of Sabtang for lunch.

Day 03

South Batan Island Tour (_/L/_)

The Batanes South Tour will visit the municipalities of MAHATAO, IVANA and UYUGAN. Passing through the “Great Road of Batanes” is a perfect place to view of the Pacific Ocean and West Philippine Sea on both sides. Take a quick stop at the TAYID LIGHT HOUSE, one of the three lighthouses in the Province. The DIURA fishing village is where the traditional fishing ritual called “kapayvanuvanua” is still practiced. The ritual is performed before the start of the fishing season. After the Fishing village, take a jump shot photo in the famous Marlboro Country “RACUH A PAYAMAN”. In Uyugan, you will see the ALAPAD rock formation and the SONGSONG RUINS. On the next town of Ivana which is the gateway to Sabtang, the SPANISH BRIDGE and HOUSE OF DAKAY which is one of the oldest house and most photographed house in Batanes. One cannot leave Batanes without experiencing the Honesty of the Ivatans, best practiced at the HONESTY COFFEE SHOP where you can buy and pay in the box and other honesty store within the town. Before the last stop at CHAWA VIEW DECK, Pass-by the BLUE LAGOON, MAHATO SHELTER PORT, and at the SAN CARLOS BOROMMEO CHURCH.
